Hello! I'm Deborah L. Younger-Mitchell, the founder of Poppin Beans.  

 

I'm a graduate of Tufts University in Childhood Studies with a minor concentration in French and African American Studies. I created Poppin Beans to support African-American families and churches, and to emphasize the voice of women.

 

I host children's programs, at local libraries or book shops in my hometown of Natick and throughout Boston. My series of children’s books aim to encourage, uplift and inspire, reminding people of their family ties and African-American heritage.

 

I hope to encourage families to celebrate their past, live their present, and look towards to a bright and dynamic future. I also encourage families and friends through bible studies and offer on-line spiritual support.
